The formula may not be used as often, but it still works. A solid fullback and a good tight end can increase any teams chances at winning more football games. A good TE can be an x-factor for a team that utilizes his ability; a solid blocker and a sure-handed pass catcher provides an extra weapon for any offensive play caller. The TE is not obsolete, yet starting to thrive once again. In Tampa Bay, we have some good ones. Some with the skill and talent to stretch a secondary and punish a defensive lineman.
As hard as this was, we ranked the Top TIGHT ENDS in Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco County (Disclaimer: we have not even touched the surface of Pasco County talent). These rankings will be evaluated again in the summer as opinions change and other players surface. The rankings are based on skill, talent, basically…who we think will be the top TEs of the 2012 season. Our evaluations are based on film review, Ignite Showcase performance, combines and practice observations.
