Tigers defeat Dragons

Junior running back Malik Davis rushed 22 times for 190 yards and two scores and junior quarterback Danny Boon went 13-of-16 for 178 yards and one score to lead Jesuit (12-0) to a 38-7 victory over Jefferson (5-7).

The Tigers will host Fort Myers Dunbar (10-2) in the regional final which defeated Immokalee 49-3 in their 5A regional semifinals.

Jesuit’s junior athlete Travell Harris added an 86-yard touchdown run and senior tight end Nicholas Rausch caught a 34-yard touchdown catch.

Defensively, Tigers’ senior linebacker Parker Looney had a sack and tackle-for-loss and senior defensive back Mayson Atkinson had two tackle-for-losses.

Jefferson’s sophomore quarterback Tyrese Spain hit on his first five passes for 59 yards before suffering an arm injury which knocked him out of the game and his backup sophomore quarterback Matthew Gaffney went 7-of-14 for 56 yards. Senior running back Mondreas Lofton had 133 all-purpose yards (93 rushing, 22 returning, 18 receiving) including a 14-yard touchdown run. Senior wide receiver Antonio Nunn had 93 all-purpose yards (70 receiving, 23 returning) including a 52-yard catch.

Dragons’ senior defensive end Jackie Moore had two tackle-for-losses.
