The Tigers are tough-to-tame in 2015

TAMPA – The Jesuit Tigers are on a mission under Head Coach Matt Thompson, who is 22-9 in his third season and first-year starter Daniel Boon who is undefeated as the signal-caller in his first season on varsity. The Tigers are averaging over 300 yards of offense and it helps when you have one of the area’s most-talented running backs in Malik Davis, but Boon is his own force for Jesuit. The Tigers’ last undefeated regular season came under James Harrell’s reign as head coach in 2010 when they weren’t defeated until the second round of the playoffs versus Robinson.

It’s easier-said-than-done to step in and exceed the expectations of the Tigers’ staff and their fans, but Boon’s well on his way to doing that in his first season for Jesuit. With the defense playing as well as they have this season, Boon’s quest to lead the offense and see the Tigers undefeated well-beyond the regular season is still on course. For now, the regular season is his main worry though and with just one team above .500 left on the schedule, he could very well help his squad accomplish that goal along with a district championship.
