Jefferson senior defensive end Tyriq McCord has been invited to play in the prestigious U.S. Army All-American game, he said Thursday.

McCord, a 6-foot-3, 225 pound defensive end, led Hillsborough County in sacks last season with 18.5. Rivals.com recently rated McCord, who has offers schools such as Florida and Southern California, as the No. 7 weakside defensive end in the country.
