The FHSAA Football Final Four will take place tonight. Several area teams will participate tonight trying to punch their ticket to the state title game; Classes 1M, 1R, 1S & 2S – Thursday-Saturday, December 8-10, 2022, and Classes 2M, 3M, 4M, 3S & 4S – Thursday-Saturday, December. 15-17, 2022. The competition will be stiff. But at the end of the evening, we hope to have several BCP Area teams continue playing over the next few weeks.
12 – The number of touchdowns for Ocoee senior RB Keyondray Jones. For the second season in a row Jones has totaled 12 rushing TDs making it 27 for his three-year varsity career. In 8 games this season Jones rushed for over 100 yards scoring 9 TDs in three games. His best performance came last week in a 43-19 win vs. East Lake rushing 24 times, for 228 yards, 9.5 yards per rush, and 3 TDS. 4M 1 Columbus vs. 4 Ocoee.
23 – The number of sacks for Apopka this season. The Blue Darters get after the passer pretty well. Senior Kaven Call leads the team with 8 sacks; two sacks vs. Wekiva and Winter Park. Call will need to be on his game because Palm Beach Central averages 183 yards per game through the air. PBC QB Ahmad Haston has thrown for 30 TDs this season. 4M 2 Palm Beach Central vs. 3 Apopka.
589 – The total passing yards for Jesuit 2026 QB Will Griffin the last three games. 359 more than his first three starts of the season. No need to rehash the QB turnover for Jesuit starting the season. However, the progression of Griffin has been commendable. He hasn’t blown us away on the stat sheet. But, he has played really well and even better in big situations. He’s had six games completing more than 60 percent of his passes. He’s playing really well. 3M 1 St. Thomas Aquinas vs 4 Jesuit.
3 – The number of receivers for Jones with more than 600 yards. Seniors Jaylen Williams, Derrick Rogers, and Jerrian Parker have a combined 2,390 and 19 TDs. The benefactors of quarterbacks completing more the 50 percent of their passes. 3M 2 Jones 3 Homestead.
