David Jones took an official visit to the University of Richmond this weekend, and during that visit committed to the Spiders.

At 6-2 160 lbs Jones has a nice frame and will be a nice addition for on the outside for Richmond, a Division I-AA school in the Colonial Athletic Association.

Jones is not only an athlete, he is a scholar. His 4.3 GPA drew interest from Harvard, Georgetown and Lehigh, among others. He also held an offer from Stony Brook.

Jones finished 2011 with impressive numbers all around playing both sides of the ball for St. Petersburg. He totaled 1,741 yards and was an asset for St. Petersburg on defense and special teams as well.

RUSHING: 72 carries, 875 yards 10 TD
RECEIVING: 18 receptions, 337 yards 1 TD

DEFENSE: 93 tackles (56 solo), 3 INT, 1 FR, 1 FF

RETURNS: 27 returns, 529 yards
