Spring Game Notes from Wesley Chapel

WIREGRASS RANCH Looked revived and inspired. Played well together as a team. No outspoken superstars, but a bunch of blue collar kids with plans of winning. The Bulls defeated Wesley Chapel in the first half and Sunlake in their second half.

John Harris-Scott, 2014 RB
Arguably the best player on the field each contest. Ran like a grown man. Tough inside the tackles and on the edge. He was tough to bring down and not once was tackled by just one defender. He was the heart of the Bulls and displayed everything the new coaching staff was establishing in the team.

Austin Stroup, 2015 DL
Crazy, hard working player. Played with a fire and was a force on the defensive line. Showed good footwork and pass rush moves. Assisted on several tackles and quarterback hurries.

Jaye Minor, 2014 LB
Sealed the win versus Wesley Chapel with a big interception. Still looked out of position playing inside linebacker and not outside, but was very active.

SUNLAKE Looked great versus Wesley Chapel and average versus Wiregrass. However, this is a spring game and not an abundant amount of time to install a bunch on offense. Seahawks were very vanilla and I am sure by choice. Defeated Wesley Chapel in their first and loss to Wiregrass in their second half.

Joe Jean-Baptiste, 2014 S/WR
Caught a big TD pass versus Wesley Chapel showing excellent concentration and ball skills. Long arms, rangy prospect who flew around on defense.

Nathan Johnson, 2015 RB
Had a few nice runs last night. He has a great looking frame and good speed. But never really broke the big one. He is one to keep an eye on.

WESLEY CHAPEL Cats need to find an identity on offense. They struggled to produce positive yards and sustain drives. Undersized on both sides of the line. The Wildcats will need to use more misdirection to counter their weaknesses. Lost to both Wiregrass and Sunlake.

Mark Labarbera 2014 ATH
Heart of a champion says it all. Not blessed with a lot of size, but instead a lot of heart. Was all over the field on defense for the Wildcats and rarely came off the field. Made a beautiful interception versus Sunlake to prevent a scoring drive. Plays like he loves the game.

Marcus Hayne, 2014 TE/DE
First year playing varsity football. 6-6 TE looks great in pads. It was evident that he has a ton to learn, but if he does and fast, he could have a chance. Caught a big pass down the sideline late in the Wiregrass game that showed his basketball skills. Went up and used his 6-6 frame to tower over the smaller defenders.

Alex Greer, 2014 LB/RB
He looks like a player and runs around like a destructive force. At times was out of position, but uses his hands well and is very aggressive. Played mostly OLB and DE, but runs and has instinct more like a middle line backer.
