Spartans will play Booker T at Traz Powell stadium

The May 31st game between Lakewood and Booker T. Washington will be played at Traz Powell stadium in Miami. Originally scheduled to be played at Booker T. Washington, has been moved due to expected high attendance.

Lakewood is coming off their best season under current head football coach Cory Moore. Finishing 2012 with a 10-2 record and tough loss to Robinson in the playoffs. Booker T. Washington is the defending class 4A state champion and returns plenty of key pieces to make another run.

Nathaniel Traz Powell Stadium is park at Miami-dade College North Campus located at 11380 Nw 27th Ave in Miami, FL 33167. Nathaniel Traz Powell Stadium is also known as Traz Powell Stadium. Named after Nathaniel “Traz” Powell, who was the first black athlete to score a touchdown in the Orange Bowl stadium and went on to become one of the top coaches in the pre-integration Florida Interscholastic Athletic Association.
