RIDOLPH SETTING THE PACE ON DEFENSE

The red hot Wiregrass Ranch Bulls started the 2017 season on fire. Winning their first five games before suffering their first loss of the season to Gaither. Largest margin of victory during that winning stretch, 20 point spread shutting out Wharton. Every other win was a one score spread. The defense closed the deal for the Bulls.

One young man showing up on film at an alarming rate was sophomore OLB Dylan Ridolph. Dylan registered a tackle for loss in every game but one this season for the 9-3 Bulls. Matter of fact, he registered multiple TFLs in 8 of the 10 games when he had a TFL. A 6 TFL performance versus rival Wesley Chapel and 3 versus Sickles. Both in a win for the Bulls.

He was just as impactful getting to the passers. 15 was the magic number. 15 sacks in the 2017 season for Ridolph. Dylan was the owner of 38% of the team’s total sacks. The next closest teammate finished the season with 5 sacks.

His final season stats: 89 total tackles, 23.0 TFLs and 15 sacks. For Wiregrass Ranch to continue to progress, the defense will need to be the foundation. Ridolph is a great start.
