Sleeper Falcon to become household name

Tramaine Batten, Dunedin, RB, 2013

Tramaine Batten
Dunedin, RB, 2013
5-10/180lbs

Back in the days, Dunedin would have been a hot spot of potential college prospects. A program with a successful past and good ball players. Times have changed and Dunedin has had their up and down years. Even though the wins don’t come as often as the school and players would like, there is a reason to smile.

Tramaine Batten is 5-10, 180lbs running back that provided the Falcons with more than just yards and touch downs, rather spirit and hope for the future. Under new head football coach, Max Smith, the Dunedin Falcons took steps in the right direction in 2011 with Batten as a leading contributor.

As a junior, Batten accounted for 78 of the Falcons 210 offensive points, over 1/3 of the Falcons total point production. He scored 10 rushing TDs and 3 receiving touch downs, 119 rushes for 1194 yards on the ground and an additional 150 yards receiving. “I can make it with my talent”, believes Batten. Almost reaching the 1200 yard mark, Batten still shared carries with sophomore Shaquille Dixon who rushed for nearly 900 yards.

What we have here, is a sleeper player with the ability to become a 1500 yard rusher and household name. Depending on the strength of his spring conditioning, performance at exposure events and summer camps, Batten can be a player that starts to receive lots of recruiting attention before the start of the 2012 football season.
