Division one underclassmen prospects Mike Trigg, Tony Livingston and Brandon Cleveland all gone to transfer. Top passer Isaiah Knowles, top rusher Justin Stubbs and top tackler Tristan Kistler all gone to graduation. So what’s left for a program which has won 22 wins in the last two seasons?
An always faithful head coach Travis Puleo was energetic and excited at practice yesterday and for good reason. Great numbers on the field, a dedicated coaching staff and dark clouds that shifted away from the practice field just in time for us to get some great photos. So the pressing questions had to be asked. “Who ya got?”
NEWCOMERS
Herman James – Described as a great leader and has great speed as a receiver. He’s expected to also return kicks and be a shutdown corner.
Justice “Juice” Williams – Will play on both sides of the ball and has tremendous athleticism. Quick feet and super physical. Expect him to be very disruptive up front.
Elijah Sejour – Great character guy and will play both sides of the ball as well. Will be physical at LB and fullback for the Crusaders.
Jaydunn Walker – Physical runner. The staff likes him to be a great compliment behind the quarterback.
RETURNERS
Kendall Whiteside – Will play both sides of the ball up front. He has good extension and physicality. He’ll be a great run stopper for us. Physical play at tackle on offense.
Niko Fowler – “Great leadership up front for us,” says Puleo. Will be huge in the run game. Very strong and physical.
Isaiah Reed – Best pass defender and tackler in the defensive backfield. One of our quarterbacks on defense. Twitchy, explosive, and extremely athletic.
Jkobe Jones – One of the best young talents not many know about. Huge, big-play guy and will make waves as a returner on special teams.
Titus Mullen – Another very physical run blocker upfront for us. “Our leader upfront last year.” – Travis Puleo
