Short Capsule: A change of mentality is the focus for the Indians. A program that experienced success in the late ‘90s and early 2000s under Brian Thornton. But only won 10 games in the last three season with Coach Thornton. Exit Thornton; enter Frank LaRosa and a fresh start for the East Bay Indians. The Indians will compete in a stiff district with familiar faces, but East Bay does not intend on showing up to the party in the same “1-9” costume. Coach LaRosa and staff have canned the wishbone offense and intend to mix it up with a few different offensive sets. Tajee Fullwood and Quantavious Gibbs will carry much of the load for the Indian offensive backfield. The Indians will stay in an even from on defense and attempt to create more pressure on the opposing QBs.

“Coach Speak”: “This is going to be an exciting spring at East Bay. We’ve had our guys lifting and running all off-season as well as playing other sports. I’ve told my guys countless times, ‘If you want to get paid, you have to go to work’. The coaching staff and players have all put in their time to help the whole group improve. We were talented last year, despite what our record showed. The team chemistry and ‘All In’ mentality has been improved and hopefully it will show this spring and heading into the fall” ~ Frank LaRosa

“Must Have”:
• Team must “Buy In” to what the coaches are teaching
• Selfless play
• Be physical upfront on both sides of the line.

“Uh-oh”: Coach LaRosa says “We can’t lose the locker room”. Meaning, the chemistry and bond cannot be lost. A lost locker room is a losing football team!
