Short Capsule: Alonso football is yet again going through a state of transition. Brian Emmanuel takes over the reigns as the Raven new head football coach looking to “up” the wins and claim a district championship. The Raven success will not rest on the shoulders of speedster Brandon Holloway or even sophomore QB, Brandon Hawkins, but on the play of the offensive linemen. The hogs upfront will be counted on the keep their young QB’s facemask out of the turf and open up the run lanes for Holloway. If the offensive line can protect Hawkins and the Ravens can get Brandon Holloway enough touches, they will have a good chance at making the state playoffs once again.

“Saying Goodbye” (graduation or transfer):
Pierry Adonis, LB/RB
Dylan Fisher, QB
Tyree Clark, DB
Anthony Chickillo, DE
Cody Verrelli

“Hello Again” (key returners or potential Impact Players):
Brandon Holloway, RB/WR
Jordan Davis, WR/DB
Brandon Hawkins, QB
Marcus Neuman, DL

“Fun Fact”: The Ravens played their 1st varsity season in 2001, posting a 1-9 record that season and a 2-8 record the following season. Since 2003, the Alonso Ravens have only missed the state playoffs twice (2004 and 2007), entered as the district runner up each year except for 2006, when Alonso won the district.

“Must Have”:
• Offensive line must protect the sophomore QB, Brandon Hawkins
• Find a defensive end to compliment Marcus Neuman and replace Anthony Chickillo
• Maintain average rush attempts per game (28) from 2010.
• Get Brandon Holloway the ball by any means necessary

“Uh-oh”: The Ravens rush offense has to have more of an impact on the outcome of each contest. Last season, Alonso only rushed for plus 1,100 total yards, with only 4 games with over 100 yards of offense on the ground.
