“Running Backs running wild”

“Running Backs running wild”
Michael Gimbert

Friday night is coming up and that means a lot of Running backs will have fantastic nights. Every running back has their own goals with their teams, but their stats always speak for themselves. So, let me give you the low on some pretty special kids running the ball this Friday night.

Here are the top 5 statictical (yardage) running backs in Hillsborough County, playing Friday night:
Robert Davis– Carrollwood (5-3)-103Att-1521yds-21td’s: This talented junior running back will have another wild night, and I am sure of it. His stats are already eye-popping, considering only having played eight games, but Robert is looking to take on Indian Rocks Christian this Friday night and will be looking forward to continuing his success on the ground.

Tyrell Garner– Brandon (3-4)-143Att-1052yds-13td’s: The Brandon Eagles aren’t doing as well as they can, but this talented running back is a sure asset for the struggling team. Tyrell is looking at a tough road match against Plant City. I still believe he will shine but boy does this offensive line have a big task. If he wants to play well, he has to motivate his line to open up some pretty big holes for this senior running back.

Nelson Agholor– Berkeley prep (7-0)-90Att-938yds-17td’s: Well, this senior running back should have an exceptional night on the ground facing First Academy. They’re 7-0 and the season is looking very nice for them. Only 90 attempts and this young man is close to 1,000 yards. Oh yeah… With 17 touchdowns, pretty remarkable!

Darius Paige– Wharton (4-4)-114Att-825yds-10td’s: Darius page coming out of Wharton High School his senior year is doing as well as his coaches thought. Yes, the team’s record doesn’t show it but statistically this kid is shining. If he wants to get close to a 1,000 yard season, he must have a huge night against Blake. If there is any team you want to have a big game on, well, Friday night is your chance Mr. Paige.

Eric Moate– Spoto (4-4)-72Att-763yds-9td’s: It’s crunch time for the Spartans in week nine. They’re taking on Lennard High School, who will give them a fair and fighting chance to win. I believe Eric Moate will have a good night against them, only if his blockers show up for the game.

Here are the top 5 statictical (yardage) running backs in Pinellas County, playing Friday night:

Brent O’Neal– Canterbury (6-1) – 132Att-1322yds-15td’s: Keswick Christian, watch out! Brent O’Neal is having one fine season and I honestly don’t think they can slow him down. With 15 touchdowns already, and 1,322 yards on the ground, what makes you think he’ll be slowed down Friday night?

Todd Macon– Admiral Farragut (7-1) – 115Att-915yds-11td’s: Ask Todd Macon who Northside Christian is. He’ll respond with a huge night of plentiful yards and more touchdowns. This junior is carrying his team on the ground and will have another fantastic game.

Diomi Roberts– Countryside (8-0) – 112Att-890yds-16td’s: What does Countryside value most on Offense? The running game! Diomi Roberts, a senior running back is going to have a good test against a Pinellas Park team that is 6-1. With all that said, he’ll pound and bruise their defense all night and that is what Countryside loves to do.

Alex Drexler– Shorecrest (2-5) – 80Att-845yds-5td’s: Alex Drexler is facing a decent Lakeland Christian High Friday night. If he wants his team to do well, he must put his team on his back and run for some big yardage. I think he will fair well in his journey to revive his team.

Ryan Green– SPC (2-6) – 98Att-800yds-11td’s: This rising sophomore is playing well for his struggling team. SPC and Ryan are taking on Evangelical Christian High School and I think he’ll have another big night. He is only a sophomore but he is on to big things in football.
