RECRUITING

Recruiting Roundup: Canes, Gators, Knights and Bulls

The UF Gators will not be resting this off-season. As they always do, the Orange and Blue will hit the BCP Area hard trying to snag commitments from area prospects. Highest on their recruiting board are RB Ray Ray McCloud from Sickles, QB Dwayne Lawson from Hillsborough, WR George Campbell from East Lake and DL Byron Cowart from Armwood. Armwood has had several players play in Gainesville, so Byron Cowart will be a top priority to continue that healthy Seffner to Gainesville relationship.

2014 Sickles ATH, Josh Black says “It will come down to Toledo, USF and Marshall.” He is likely to make a commitment after he takes his official visits.

USF has a long list of kids they will be trying to knock the door down the get. Starting with RB Ray-Ray McCloud, Sickles, DL Byron Cowart, Armwood and OT Billy Atterbury, Clearwater Central Catholic.

UCF really targeting Lake Wales S, Marcus Walker; Armwood CB, Aaron Covington and Nature Coast Tech OT, Christian Pellage. Knights also like Jenkins LB, Eric Gallon and will be doing some research on Wiregrass LB, Jaye Miner.

Vanderbilt commit, Gaither 2014 CB Amani Oruwariye says he committed to Vanderbilt. “Not really stressing the coaching situation.” Current Vandy Coach, James Franklin is the Top Candidate for the Penn State job.

The Canes are buckling down on many area recruits as expected. Speaking with my source, Freedom DE Scott Patchan is a big priority because of his talent and bloodline. Now that George Campbell is back on the market, he and Deon Cain (Tampa Bay Tech) are the top two receiver targets. They are in love with Sickles RB Ray-Ray McCloud, will go hard after Byron Cowart and will take a shot at FSU commit Derwin James.
