PINELLAS COUNTY RECRUITING THE BOX

Recruiting: Pinellas Prospect Breakdown

Lakewood High (St. Petersburg, FL)

Javaris Little, DB/WR, 2012. 6-1/180
A physical defender that also has excellent speed. Little has the height and leaping ability to play with any big receiver in division 1 college football.

Tracy Johnson, QB, 2013, 6-1/180
Johnson is having a great year as a first year starter, but needs to work on his accuracy. Most high school quarterbacks improve their accuracy significantly in their second and third seasons. Once Johnson becomes a scary accurate passer, he could be highly sought after. Height could keep the Big Time BCS School away; but Johnson could prove to be the best quarterback in Pinellas County as a junior. He has good weapons to distribute the ball to and an above average offensive line in front of him.

Dante Fowler, DE, 2012, 6-3/250

Dante Fowler, Lakewood, 2012, DE
Dante Fowler, Lakewood, 2012, DE

JUST DOMINANT! After serving a 4 game suspension, Fowler was back with a vengeance. He played defensive end on both sides of the ball as well as defensive tackle. Used a variety of moves to get passed and disengage from blockers. He runs like a deer, and looks like a BCS player. Has the ability to stop on a dime and change direction. Very aggressive and exciting player to watch. Watching him in shorts or on film, does not do him any justice, he is a must see in person! The speedy and athletic Fowler has a GREAT get off with exceptional pursuit skills. He needs to add some upper body strength. That being said, Fowler doesn’t shy away from taking on offensive linemen and plays with physicality.

Marquez Valdes, WR, 2013, 6-3/175
Valdes showed his potential when he lit up Gibbs secondary to the tune of 5 catches for 82 yards and a 1TD. He is a really good athlete with size and speed. It will be interesting to see if Valdes continues to get the ball enough to continue to show his skills.

Rodney Adams, WR, 2013, 6-1/175
Started out on no one’s list but ours. He will end up on everyone’s list after this season. The BCP Ignite combine standout performer is a big target that will get bigger and better. With junior quarterback Tracy Johnson gaining more experience, Adams should be able to continue to produce this year and next season. He will need to play well against elite competition to be a national prospect.

Marcus Bass, S, 2013, 6-3/175
Bass showed some instinct and looks to have a high ceiling and could be a good 1AA prospect.

Logan McNeil, OT, 2013, 6-3/290
McNeil is a legit offensive line prospect that will be a dominant force in the next couple of years. He’s athletic as a pass protector, and a bulldozer as a run blocker.

Isaiah Wynn, OT, 2014, 6-3/270
Wynn is a top-flight tackle prospect. His quality play kept QB, Tracy Johnson, for the most part, untouched last night. He did an excellent job with his pass protection.

Gibbs High (St. Petersburg, FL)

Gary Simon, ATH, 2012, 6-2/185

Maurice Hall, Gibbs, OLB, 2014 (#23)
Maurice Hall, Gibbs, OLB, 2014 (#23)

Outside of Fowler, he was the best player on the field and plays every position like a natural. Graceful with a calm/cool demeanor. Quick burst from a stand still position, great up field ball skills, excellent vision as a returner, long stride runner with long arms and reach. Can play a variety of position, more suited to play in secondary. He made two first-rate interceptions and locked down his side.

Maurice Hall, OLB, 2014, 6-2/185
Hall is an explosive athlete that is having a dominant sophomore season. Hall is one of the best pass rushers in Pinellas County. At his size and weight, he could translate into an edge rusher in a 3-4 college defense. Hall is very fast with great closing speed. He plays better in space.
