Tony: After they disappointing season last year, what kind of year do you think Tampa Bay Tech will have this year and who do you think will come out of Division 7A this year?

BCP: The big question will be replacing RB Deon Thompson and LB Fred Russ. TBT had a good blend of veterans and young players last year. So they will have plenty of experience on the field. The defense will need some rebuilding, but they will be competitive again. 7A (in our area) will be wide open again. No way of telling with months before the 2014 season.

Tony: Clearly Ray-Ray McCloud is one of the best running backs in Hillsborough County. But after him, who do you see emerging in the class of 2016 and 2017? Who do you see as the next Deiondre Porter (Jefferson 2014 QB) in the Class of 2015?

BCP:
2017 info is not available for public view. 2016 RBs to keep an eye on in Hillsborough County:
Mondreas Lofton, Jefferson
Otis Williams, King
Sterling Day, Plant City
Darrell Turner, Tampa Bay Tech
Trey Gilbert, Plant
Tykese Keaton-Baldwin, Plant

It will be tough to replicate the type of season and career Porter had. I don’t see any team putting the ball in the air as Jefferson did. Several will use their QBs as primary runners, but not many will throw the ball like Jefferson does. At this point, I don’t see (not to say they won’t) any 2015 QB throwing for 3000 yards and running for 1000 yards like Porter did this past season.

Lisa: How big of a deal should I make out of my son being invited to an Ivy League junior Day?

Leslie: How interested is a school that invites you to their “junior day” and are they most likely to offer your child? We received an invite to junior day from an Ivy League school – how promising is that?

Jimmy: Do you only connect college coaches to players in your coverage area or all athletes that you consider college material?

BCP: First and foremost, prospects who attend our camps (after camp and film evaluation)! Then, kids in our coverage area extending to kids through out the state. More push on kids who attend our camps.
