John: Does Calvary Christian have any prospects?

BCP: College prospects, yes. High-level division 1 prospects, not that I am aware of at the time.

Reggie: I am a currently a freshman running back and I am looking at my high school team and I see several running backs in front of me. I don’t really feel like I will get exposure on JV and I don’t think I will get much playing time on varsity. I go to a magnet school. Do you think it will be better for me to switch back to my regular school so I can get playing time or would it be better to stick it out and just wait? I am concerned I won’t get exposure then won’t get any offers because I don’t get on the field. Is it more important to get on the field or camp and combine? My dad tells me since I don’t get playing time, I need to focus and do well in camps and combines.

BCP: No easy answer and I cannot give you a solid answer. However, coaches are going to play kids who give them the best chance of winning, not matter the age. If you are a young player and can be productive on varsity, the coaches will place you on varsity. If you are young player and need to develop more, JV is the right call. Don’t be in a rush to “Get Exposure.” If you run from competition now, you will in the future. If you are as good or better than the players listed ahead of you, the coaches will realize that and play you.

Tyson: I had a coach send me a private message on twitter that said, “One of the best ways to get an early offer is by attending our elite prospect camp and you are definitely a guy high on our radar”. He then sent me the camp links. I have registered and plan to attend. I relayed to the coach that I’ve registered and he is very excited. Could this mean I will most likely walk away with an offer if I perform well at camp?”

BCP: Keep it simple. It means they have interest. Don’t look too far into it! Don’t be afraid to ask the college coach what he knows about you; Strengths, weaknesses, GPA, test score, mom and dad’s name, other activities, etc. When prospects are high on their radar, college coaches know a ton of info about them. This way you can tell if this is just a marking tool to get kids on their campus or if they have a strong interest in you.

Bob: Do you know if any colleges have expressed interest in the Hernando QB, Tyler Kline? I’ve seen him play in person and he is quite a talent.

BCP: Yes

Bryson: I just had a recruiting coach DM me and said he has shown my film to the offensive coach and he is coming to see me this spring. Does this mean I have a high probability of getting an offer?

BCP: He wants to see your body type and measure you up in person. Wants to see you practice habits, communication and how you take coaching. It all depends on the coaching staff. Some staffs will offer on the spot. Some will gather info and wait till they discuss as a staff. To answer the question, that is a good sign.
