Benjamin: For a relative unknown class of 2015 grad who has a great senior season, if we send tapes after first three games, how can we get attention of d2 and d3 schools and when should we start to apply?

BCP: Control what you can control! Send film. If they like what they see, player has needed measurables, school has space or a need at that position, the attention will come. At this point, all you can do is get the film to the college coach. The rest is up to the college coaches whether or not they need or want you on the team.

Shaun: My brother is the QB for King High and I was wondering if you guys filmed any of his games from 9 Route? If so is there a way to get a copy of it and how much would it cost?

BCP: We do not distribute any of our film from our events to individuals for personal use.

Romello: I believe that I can play at the next level. I am 6’2″ 300lbs and still growing. Why haven’t I seen the first offer yet?

BCP: Because you believe it, college coaches have to share the same opinion. May not be the case currently. 6-2/300 is a pretty common number when talking height and weight of high school linemen in our 92 school coverage area, 500 schools in the state of Florida and 14k schools that play football in the US. It’s a pretty big pool college coaches have to pick from. Lots of 6-2/300 lineman. What makes you standout?

Eric: What do you think about the receiver Daquon Green from Tampa Bay Tech? He looks really good at times and then other times I see something different.

BCP: Young, talented and maturing. Good make up with high ceiling. Just in the 10th grade and likely 14 or 15 years old. He’s young. We should not expect him to set the world on fire. When kids get these star ratings too early, expectation rise. Not the kid’s fault. He didn’t ask for the stars. He is going to be lazy at times, drop passes, run sloppy routes, forget his lunch money, not make up his bed, leave a homework assignment at home, etc because he is 15 at the oldest. Stuff youngsters do. Let him grow and develop. He will be MORE than “OK!” When prospects are juniors and seniors, they will not make the same young errors.

Rod: When it comes to recruiting does it really matter what high school a player attends. What do you recommend for a player who not getting much time on the field because team is overloaded at a position to help get noticed.

BCP: You start running now, you help encourage a pattern of running when the child becomes a young man. The “easy way” out will be the solution 90% of the time. IF THE KID CAN PLAY, HE WILL PLAY. Parents’ opinions are naturally slighted towards their child. The high school coach may not share the same opinion. If he can help the team win, he will play. If not, he won’t. Competition and his approach to competition will forever be present in different aspects of his life. How do you want him to react when it happens?

Tony: As a parent I hear parents say they are disappointed in the job the coach is doing to get their child recruited. I have always heard it’s really not their job but they will do what they can but their main job is to win games and championship not necessary to get your child recruited. What are your thoughts on this? Should parent be more involved in getting their child recruited and involved in the overall process or should they move out the way and let their coach handle it? The great player will have little problem getting offer or those on the field but what about the one’s that maybe just as talented but are not getting the attention or have been overshadow what should they do?

Tony: Who are some of the top DB you see emerging in Tampa?

BCP: None right now. We know about all the top defensive backs and it’s only been 2 weeks into the season. Not enough time for players to emerge. Wait till about game 6 or 7. We will know much more then.
