Jed: What 3a players do you expect to have big seasons next year? Who do you think does the best out of the area teams (Calvary, SPC, TC, CCC)?

BCP: There will be a bunch of players that should have a good season. I would easily leave players out if I start naming some. CCC and TC have the upper hand in the schools you mention because of the depth and experienced players returning. But, no way to tell in April which team will have the best season in 2014.

Steve: What do you see in 2015 prospect Tavon Cox or should I say how do you guys feel about him coming into spring football?

BCP: He is currently ranked as our 18th best college prospect in the class of 2015. So, we think he has a high ceiling and like him a lot.

John: 2015 LB Tavon Cox from Haines City. How do you guys feel about him based on what you guys heard and saw?

BCP: See above

Donnie: H!i Do you know of any more recruiting camp/combine/Event coming up for April/May for high school student in Polk or Hillsborough.

BCP: No I do not. Our next Showcase is in June. Click HERE

Lisa E.: My son received a junior day invite from an Ivy League school – However we could not afford to make the trip. Will that deter the schools interest? We did send a thank you email and explained why we could not attend also thanking them for their consideration. They then invited him to one of their summer camps. We are still weighing this option as this school (Princeton) I don’t believe offer full scholarships. Your thoughts?

Also, we received an invitation to call and speak with a coach on what they called a “”junior call-in day”” from another school to discuss my son’s recruiting process and they stated he is “EXACTLY” (how the school typed it in their letter) what they are looking for. Offer or No? How should we take this?”

BCP: If you can’t afford to make the trip, you can’t afford to make the trip. Ivy League schools only award financial aid according to financial need, not athletic or academic ability. For other 1A or 1AA schools,  if They like your son enough, they will:
a) Offer him a verbal scholarship
b) Visit him at his school in Late April or May
c) Mail him an official written scholarship offer
d) Fly him up to their campus at their expense

That’s how you know they are serious. Until then, they are telling hundreds of kids the same thing to market their campus/program to kids and parents.

Ken: Should a junior be worried if my phone is not ringing on April 15th, the start of when college can reach out? If it does not ring does it mean I am not being looked at or that I just need to do more and attend more camps? How can I help myself get recruited?

BCP: In the short period of time college coaches have to visit schools within their recruiting area, they will focus on kids on their radar. That’s why attending our camps/showcases are important. We help in getting kids on college coaches’ radar. If college coaches don’t make contact with prospects in the spring evaluation period, more than likely, those players are not high on their recruiting board. But does not mean they do not have interest in players they do not contact. Plenty changes during the summer and early fall.

Nick: Have you heard anything about Nydarius Roberts that RB that played with White at Landmark? What school is he at now?

BCP: Do not have an answer for you.

Jake: Do any players in Hernando County catch your eye?

BCP: Yes, a few at Hernando, Weeki Wachee and Nature Coast
