PASCO COUNTY RECRUITING

Prospect Focus: Jordan Miner, Wiregrass Ranch

If Wiregrass Ranch can collectively stay healthy this season, things are going to get interesting. There’s plenty of talent to go around on the Bulls roster, but said roster last season looked like a M.A.S.H. Unit before they could even complete half their schedule.

A new season and hope springs eternal up at Wiregrass and one of those reasons for hope is the emerging skills set of one Jordan Miner–the younger brother of Jaye who is now at Florida Atlantic. Jordan just completed his sophomore season for the Bulls and is already at 6-feet and 170-pounds playing at the cornerback position as well as wherever he’s needed on the offense plus special teams.

Miner played varsity his freshman year, and by all accounts had a very solid season. He added 20 tackles, four passes defend and a fumble recovery his first season then stepped up his second with 35 tackles–27 solo–and a tackle for loss. He added an interception and a blocked field goal as well as chipped-in 200+ yards of returns on kickoffs for Wiregrass including a touchdown on a return versus archival Wesley Chapel.

This season, Miner added a little bit of offense at the receiver spot catching five passes totaling 71 yards. Watch his film, and you’ll see he’s got plenty of tools at this point in time to keep moving up college recruiting boards to go with that frame that will get bigger. He has ATH written all over him to some coaches, while other coaches see him as a DB that’s going to be special. All of which adds up to pretty good things on the horizon for this young man. Needless to say Miner is going to be more than a “minor” problem for opposing teams if he continues to work on and off the field.
