HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY RECRUITING

Prospect Focus: Bloomingdale’s Colin Errity

The Bulls went through a pretty tough patch last season to say the least. In 2015, Bloomingdale went 1-9 after a historic 9-2 season and postseason appearance in 2014. We all know that things can happen and success/failure is a very slippery slope in high school football and that just because a team wins one game, that doesn’t necessarily guarantee the team being talentless.

The Bulls fit that description because they certainly have talent returning to the squad this season–especially on the defensive side. Along with the talented Sam Skinner at defensive end and tight end, junior linebacker Colin Errity (5-11/185) is trying to raise the bar even higher than the one he set for himself last season.

In 2014 as a sophomore, Errity put up impressive numbers from his spot with 80 tackles–40 of those solo–with eight tackles for loss, a sack, two interceptions and a pass defensed. He followed that up in 2015 with triple digits–totaling 108 tackles, 1.5 sacks, a quarterback hurry and a pass defensed. He also averaged 32 yards per kick on kickoffs and and was a perfect three-for-three on extra points.

Errity is an active player that is really good at finishing his tackles and is getting better very time we see him with his change of direction and his feet. The Bulls’ and their staff will definitely take any progression they can get at this point, and are hopeful that Errity’s work ethic will rub off on others this offseason.
