POLK COUNTY PLAYER SPOTLIGHT AND PASCO PLAYMAKERS

Efficiency! The one factor that is hard to argue against. Production and efficiency can go hand in hand. Much of the time it does. Especially in football. How efficient can a player be and at the same time maximizing his production?

With that said, we highlighted a bunch of really efficient and highly productive players in Pasco and Polk County.

PASCO Top Player Makers
…up for debate…But, here goes our initial list (Subject to change)
1. Mikey Roussos, River Ridge, ATH – Going to keep it real simple. Scores a touchdown every four times he touches the football. 14 total TDs (84 points) this season. It doesn’t matter how you get it to him; Return game, pass or handoff…ever four times he gets the ball, the math says he will score.

2. Mychael Hamilton, Mitchell, RB – Averaging 8.2 yards per carry. Hand him the ball about 12 times on a drive starting from the -1 yard line, drive end’s up in the opposition’s end zone. Oh, he accounts for 44% of Mitchell’s total offense and 70% of the Mustang rushing yards.

3. Alonzo Sampson, Zephyrhills Christian, ATH – Why not? Because he is not at a large class school? 90 tackles on defense with 14 TFLs along with 9.6 yards per rush (878 rushing yards). Basically, he is good for a first down every time he carries the football and a tackle behind the line of scrimmage every other defensive possession. Not bad. Lots of good!

4. Charles Harrison III, Zephyrhills, QB – Every four (rounded up) completions, he will throw a touchdown pass. Every six passes, he will throw a touchdown pass. 22 touchdown passes this season and completing over 60% of his passes. What if you won the lotto every six attempts? EXACTLY!!!!

5. Tim Dallaire, Anclote, QB – Has thrown 17 touchdown passes this season and only five interceptions. Not only does he make players around him better, he doesn’t turn the ball over. Would need to throw 39 passes before he completes a pass to the other team (interception).

POLK senior player spot light
….three athletes who make impacts on their respective side of the ball.

Ja’Veon Marlow, Winter Haven, 2018, RBFILM – Like the film? You should. Check the numbers: 129 carries for 1203 rushing yards, 9.3 Y/R, 150.4 Y/G, 13 rushing TDs.

Deonta McMahon, Frostproof, 2018, RBFILM – Please check him out. Awesome game speed, change of direction is outstanding and shows burst.

Vance Monroe, George Jenkins, 2018, LBFILM – If we started a list, and maybe we will, of the hardest hitters in the area Vance would make the list. Young man loves to rattle ball carriers.
