Polk County DL breakdown

Stephaun Maddox – 2014 DE – Ridge Community – SEE FILM
Undersized, but if he can play standing up as an OLB, will be a really good prospect. Runs like a deer and brings it when he unloads. Very quick first step and can rush the passers with the best of them. Uses his hands well vs the run and changes directions like a defensive back.

Reuben Jones – 2015 DE – Lake Gibson – SEE FILM
High motor player. Better run stopper than pass rusher. Likely to play on the interior. Just a rising junior and good upside.

Romante Bell – 2014 DL – Bartow – SEE FILM
Runs like a linebacker. Anticipates the snap count and has an excellent get off/first step. Very disruptive and finds the ball in the back field. Plays extremely well with his hands. Very similar to Michigan State 2013 signee, Devin Salmon.

Justin Andrews – 2016 DL – Kathleen – FILM NOT AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC VIEW AT THIS TIME
We got something here. Plays more advanced than his age. Good get off and shows the ability to control the line of scrimmage. Good speed and first step. Impact player.

Johnny Footman – 2015 DL – Winter Haven – SEE FILM
BIG BOY! Takes up a gap and a half. Looks to be very strong. Would like to see more hand action. However he runs pretty well to be a 300 pounder.

Harrison Johnson – 2014 DT – Frostproof – SEE FILM
6-4 prospect with a high ceiling. Good motor and can cause problems versus the double team. Very good with leverage. Uses hands fairly well and can plant and drive.

Sam Hamilton – 2015 DL/OL – Frostproof – FILM NOT AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC VIEW AT THE TIME
Better DT prospect. Scary that he is just a sophomore. At times he looks really dominant and comfortable in the A gap. Can split double teams and stand up offensive linemen. Will need to play with a lower pad level.
