FHSAA released their first update of the new playoff point system. Within the link provided, you will see team names in black and the playoff point percentage in red along with the win/loss record, Percent, Category, Bonus Points and Total Points Earned for each opponent.

THE POINTS EARNED
Based on if you win or lose

THE EQUATION
Your total games played will be divided by your total points earned

EXAMPLE
Tampa Bay Tech earned 33 points by losing to Armwood. 30 points for the loss versus a category 1 team and 3 points for that team being a playoff team one season ago. If Tampa Bay Tech would have defeated Armwood, the Titans would have earned 53 points instead of 33.

Armwood fits into Category 1 currently because they have won more than 80% of their games so far (4-0).

This is where the reward comes in, by losing to a category 1 team (Armwood) Tech earned nearly as many points by beating category 4 teams Strawberry Crest and Lennard (35 points each). Tech defeated Hillsborough, which is a category 2 team earning them 48 points (45 points for the win and 3 playoff bonus points from the previous season).
