Plant with last minute win over Armwood

TAMPA — Plant junior Tykese Keaton-Baldwin scored the go ahead touchdown with 41 seconds on a strong 14-yard run. This game clinching 48 yard drive came after junior Scoop Bradshaw second interception of the night. Panther senior Derrick Baity also had two interceptions, including the game sealing pick at the goal line on the last play of the game to give Plant a 21 to 17 win over Armwood.

Plant’s offense came mostly on the ground led by senior Patrick Brooks with 23 carries for 156 yards including a 3-yard touchdown run early in fourth quarter, Tykese Keaton-Baldwin added a 2-point conversion run. Junior quarterback Rex Culpepper had a 23-yard touchdown pass to senior Jordan Reed in first quarter and went 5 for 13 with 74 yards passing with 2 interceptions.

Panther’s Tykese Keaton-Baldwin also stood out on defense with a sack and two tackle-for-losses.

For Armwood, senior Aaron Covington had two interceptions and senior Jordan Griffin had a sack, two tackle-for-losses, and made numerous tackles. Hawks quarterback senior Noah Johnson was picked off four times and went 7 for 19 with 69 yards passing and had 37-yard touchdown run with 21 seconds left in first half to put the Hawks up 10-6.

Armwood extended the lead to 17-6 in third quarter on senior Caylan Holloway’s 20-yard touchdown run. Holloway had 13 rushes for 81 yards.
