Plant tames Bulls, George Brammeier stands tall

The Plant Panthers traveled to Bloomingdale last night to take on the hometeam Bulls. A contest without many big name players, the big men shined the brightest.

The first half was sloppy. Littered with turnovers and mental mistakes by both teams. After half-time, the tempo picked up as well as the play.

Plant junior forward and BREAKDOWN ALUM, Andrew Sanders played a solid game. Finished with 17 total points and was 4 of 5 from the free throw line. The talented forward scored most of his points from the field inside the paint as he contributed on the offensive and defensive glass. Plant senior G, Alex Mitura was the second leading scorer for the Panthers with 12 points of his own and 75% form the stripe.

Though Plant won the contest, George Brammeier shinned big time. The junior prospect pounded the glass and ended the game with 12 points. At 6-7, Brammeier showed really good footwork, excellent hands and a sweet 15 foot jumper.

Todd Kaiser and Grant Townsend ended the game with 9 points of their own. Did plenty of the dirty work to keep Bloomingdale within striking range in the third quarter. Final score: Plant 53 Bloomingdale 39
