Plant City RB, Hargrove Awarded Hillsborough County’s Top Honor

Already adding to an impressive list of accomplishments during his career at Plant City, running back Markese Hargrove added to his awards received in grand fashion by winning Hillsborough County’s equivalent of the Heisman Trophy by virtue of receiving the Guy Toph award. The award proclaims to be the oldest high school sports award given in the country and Hargrove–just like Felipe Fernandez with his Jimbo Kynes award–is an extremely deserving recipient. Last season during the Raiders’ history-making run to the regional finals, Hargrove totaled 1,932 yards rushing and receiving with 14 touchdowns. Hargrove also received the inaugural Bill Minahan award last January for his inspiration to others (both teammates and adults) around him. Last year’s recipient of the Guy Toph Award was Sickles’ Ray Ray McCloud III.
