Pirates shutout Tigers

PALMETTO – Braden River (6-1, 3-1) shutout Palmetto (6-2, 31), 35-0.

The Pirates defense limited the Tigers to 97 yards of offense and only two plays of 10 yards or more from scrimmage. The Braden River offense scored two touchdowns in first quarter (1-yd run by senior Raymond Thomas, 52-yard scoring catch by sophomore Knowledge McDaniel from senior Louis Colosimo), two touchdowns in second quarter (73-yard pass to junior Tyrone Collins and 28-yard pass to junior Deshaun Fenwick, both from Colosimo), and one touchdown in third quarter (8-yard run by Raymond Thomas).

Louis Colosimo went 12-of-16 for 294 yards and 3 touchdown passes, Deshaun Fenwick had 111 all-purpose yards and 1 touchdown catch, Tyrone Collins had 101 all-purpose yards, 1 touchdown catch, an interception, a sack and a pass defense, Knowledge McDaniel caught two passes for 73 yards and 1 touchdown, and Raymond Thomas rushed for 52 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Defensively, Pirates also got contributions from senior Noah Arce with 2 tackle-for-losses, pass defense and quarterback hurry and senior Matthew Haftke with a tackle-for-loss and 2 quarterback hurries.

Palmetto’s senior Desmine Ross had an interception (his sixth of the season), junior Trayvontae Thompskin also intercepted a pass and junior Tyrique Castillo had 2 tackle-for-losses and a quarterback hurry.
