Part I: Ignite Showcase Quarterbacks
Didn’t take long for IGNITE to pop! The crowd got into it real quick as soon as the 1 on 1s with the WRs/DBs cranked up. 34 QBs participated this past weekend and so many impressed that we had to turn this into a two part article.
Pete Dinovo, East Lake, 2013
Dinovo took home QB MVP honors and deservingly so. He was on point all night! Showed a great deep ball and arm strength with some big throws.
Chase Litton, Wharton, 2014
We were surprised at how well Chase Litton threw the balI. We thought he’d be a little rusty because of his involvement with the basketball program but he looked sharp and crisp. He had a very good night.
Two Others
Nate Mills, Sickles, 2013 and Brandon Hawkins, Alonso, 2013 showed accuracy and arm strength. Both rival QBs showed great rhythm in their footwork and anticipated the receivers’ breaks very well. Osceola’s sharp shooter, Andrew Matyk showed a very strong arm and went back and forth with Tracy Johnson of Lakewood. Both 2013 prospects displayed control and were on the money most of the night.
The Battle in South Tampa is on
As it looks, Plant is in for another QB battle as all 4 of their QB’s were slinging it all night. Kyle Groh, Kyle Ploucher and newcomer Colby Brown all did well and are equally talented. But the worst thing that happened for Those 3 is that Aaron Banks showed up as a walk up and wasn’t going to let his teammates show him up. Both Banks and Groh are 2013 athletes while Ploucher and Brown are just sophomores. All 4 QBs were darn good and performed at a high level.
What you may not know
Bloomingdale QB, Cody Crouse is one of Hillsborough County’s best kept secrets. On size alone, he should be on some college’s target prospect list. He has a cannon and throws a beautiful deep ball. This summer he should develop into a very good prospect.
