Palmer hits 100 and Largo’s Rick Rodriguez going for win number 101

Largo head football coach, Rick Rodriguez, entered the “100 win” class of Pinellas County Coaches earlier this year with his win last week over East Lake. The East Lake win ties Ridriguez with Osceola coach George Palmer (100-119 1990-active) and will look to pass him with a win this week over Dixie Hollins if Osceola loses to Boca Ciega. Both Rodriguez and Palmer are trying to catch Bob Stephens (Lakewood 1976-1988, Countryside 1989-1995) who finished his career at 106-100. Both coaches are part of an elite group that consist of Jerry Austin 194-107 (Northeast 1979-2006), Phil Hayford 190-136 (Shorecrest 1980-active), Tom Bostic 174-152 (Boca Ceiga 1979-1981, Clearwater 1983-active) and Earle Brown 131-62-11 (Clearwater 1958-1977).
