Newman’s Xecutives LB Top 4

Analysis from Xecutives LB Coach, Keith Newman

#55 Decalon Brooks (Gaither) Most Outstanding LB, moved gracefully (good hips and feet) and displayed great agility and reaction in LB skill drills (i.e., back pedal and react and box reaction/movement), very coachable, excellent pass coverage vs. #2 removed in zone and man-to-man, young man was in very good physical shape.

#15 Jaye Miner (Wiregrass Ranch) Tall, rangy LB with a good frame, good leadership as he always is in the front of the line for every drill, very coachable, showed good leverage for tall LB, good feet in agility drills, moved around well in 7v7 despite playing OLB as opposed to his normal MLB position, the young man will continue to grow and mature into a fine LB.

#26 Sawyer Dawson (Plant City) Played with good leverage, moved well in pass coverage vs. both RB and #2 WR removed in 7v7, deceptive speed as he moves faster than what he appears at times.

#76 Duran Baker (Chamberlain) New to the LB position after playing DL, attacked ball carriers with a purpose in 1-on-1 tackling drill, had good leverage throughout the day, showed good movement in 7v7 and made an excellent INT in the red zone.
