Nature Coast’s Road Graders

The heartbeat of the offense always gets overlooked since it’s the glitz-and-glamour of the skill guys that puts the butts in their seats. Those big nasties in the trenches don’t get the love the deserve, but those holes that the state’s leading rusher Deshawn Smith don’t open up themselves.

Nature Coast’s OL has helped the Sharks rush for a minimum of 300 yards in eleven of their twelve games this season–five of those games were 400+ yards and four of those games were for 500+ yards. The Sharks are averaging 44.5 points per contest in 2015. They’ve also helped Smith rush for 3,500+ yards this season–that’s 600 more yards than former Coral Gables and Miami stud Frank Gore rushed for his senior season and 1,000 yards more than Jacques Patrick of Timber Creek and now FSU.

So allow us to show some love to this year’s road graders for Nature Coast. They are:

Nico DeVito (’17) 6-3/240
Jesus Torres (’19) 5-10/261
Brad Navarro (’16) 6-0/215
Hunter Rhineberger (’16) 6-3/273
Cass Cole (’16) 6-4/285

This week, the Sharks will be facing Clay up in Green Cove Springs. The Blue Devils have rushed for 7,500+ yards the last two seasons as a team, and will feature RB Bilal Ally, who–along with Smith–were the top two rushers in the state last week combining for nearly 1,000 yards and 12 touchdowns.
