Senior running back DeShawn Smith ran for 323 yards and five touchdowns and threw for another to help lead Nature Coast (11-0) to their first-ever playoff victory. The sharks defense limited Zephyrhills (8-3) to just two score in this impressive 42-13 win.
Nature Coast freshman running back Cameron Corollo chipped in 87 yards rushing and senior wide receiver Cameron Syblis had a 9-yard touchdown catch.
Defensively, Sharks senior cornerback Jamison Carnegie had three pass defenses and a tackle-for-loss, senior linebacker Devon Babinsack had a sack and tackle-for-loss, freshman linebacker/safety Dajour Morgan had two tackle-for-losses, and senior safety Joseph Leonard had an interception.
Zephyrhills junior running back Antwione Sims ran for 120 yards and one touchdown and sophomore quarterback Charles Harrison III hit senior wide receiver Jackie Tucker for a 39-yard touchdown pass.
Bulldogs sophomore defensive end Zander Lemay had two tackle-for-losses, Antwione Sims had a pass defense and a tackle-for-loss, and senior linebacker Leonardo Guzman IV had a fumble recovery.
Next Friday in the 5A-2 Region Semifinals, River Ridge (10-1) will travel the the Shark Tank to play Nature Coast.
