Most Successful Programs in the last 5 years (not counting State Title Winners)
By Don Haggard, BCP Contributor
Let us take a look at the most successful football programs in the last 5 years in Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties (not counting the State Title Winners). The State Title Winners in the last 5 years were Plant (3 State Titles, 64-8 record), Armwood (1 State Title, 68-5 record), and Jefferson (1 State Title, 43-18 record).
Listed below are the teams in Hillsborough County with the Top 5 Win Totals (not counting the State Title Winners):

While Jesuit has the highest winning percentage (75%) of the two teams with 42 wins since 2007 and has beaten Tampa Catholic head-to-head, TC has more playoff appearances, playoff wins, District Titles, and was State Runner-up in 2007 and 2009. I would have to give the edge in Hillsborough County to Tampa Catholic for most successful program in last 5 years not winning a State Title.

While Countryside has the highest winning percentage (81%) of the two teams with most wins since 2007 in Pinellas County and has had two undefeated regular seasons, Largo has more wins, playoff appearances, playoff wins, District Titles, and was a State Semi-finalist in 2007 and 2008. Largo gets the edge in Pinellas County for the most successful program in last 5 years.
Overall, there are 10 football programs in the two counties that have won more than two thirds of their games since 2007 (not counting state title winners) and six teams that have been in the playoffs 4 out of last 5 years or more.
