HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY RECRUITING

Middleton’s Anthony Rhynes hits 1k and that puts him in the national conversation

Anthony Rhynes, Middleton senior WR has 1000 yards receiving after 7 games. He has 27 total catches, averaging 37 yards per catch and 143 yards per game. According to Maxpreps.com, Anthony’s 1k receiving yards ranks him at #36 nationally and #3 in the state of Florida.

Middleton head football coach, Alonso Ashwood loves how Rhynes has progressed as a young man and as a player, “ He has done a lot better in the classroom, shown concern about his own grades. He is a pure wide receiver. Has good ball skills, but needs to improve his work ether.” Currently, Middleton is 2-5 headed into a district game versus Spoto that will likely determine a playoff spot. Rhynes will be the main target for the Tigers who has passed for 1500 yards and Anthony has caught 1000 of those yards in addition to 10 of Middleton’s 17 TD passes.

Rhynes has only had 2 games fewer than 100 yards receiving. Versus Freedom, he caught 3 passes for 238 yards and 2 touchdown receptions. He followed that performance up with 175 yards against King and another set of TD catches. This past Friday, Middleton defeated Leto and Anthony had 189 yards and 3 TDs.
