Miami Commit, Anthony Chickillo’s 7 on 7 Observations

Anthony Chickillo, Alonso High, University of Miami Commit
Jesuit High School (these are observation by Chickillo, but not direct quotes)

Every year this time, teams try to get a jump on the new season.  Combines are everywhere, track meets are weekly and the basketball players are just now getting back into the swing of football.  But, it’s 7 on 7 season.  Whether padded or not, 7 on 7 is a must for teams to start installing playbooks and checking personnel.  University of Miami Commit, Anthony Chickillo visited Jesuit High School tonight to check out some of the action. This is what he saw:

Teams participating: Plant, Jesuit, Robinson, Tampa Catholic, Carrollwood day, Chamberlain, Hillsborough

Carrollwood Day School dominated Chamberlain.

Jesuit looked well coached and should be good again this year.

Plant will reload, but not sure if they will be as good as previous years.

Martin Ruiz (Robinson,RB/LB), cousin of Purdue commit Frankie Williams, is going to be a player.

Taylor Timmons, Tampa Catholic DL, looked to be in great shape.  Timmon’s father attended Miami during the same time as Chickillo’s Father.

Tampa Catholic’s, Alec Maughn will be one of the Top LBs in the County.

Tampa Catholic’s DB, Tyree Holder, made a few great plays and has good cover skills.  TC has some talented DBs.

“Hillsborough’s new OC [Brian Emanuel], thinks he’s a stud!(haha).  I love talking to Frank Emanuel (father of Brian Emanuel)…I learn something new every time.  He’s one of my mentors.”

“Travis Johnson (Jesuit class 2013 WR) needs to come to Miami with me.  I gotta get him!”

Jesuit is the best team out here overall tonight.
