Manatee at St. Thomas Aquinas

Big bad Manatee is on the verge of winning their second consecutive state championship. Grasping their #1 National ranking and blanketed with bevy of talent, the boys from Manatee will travel to St. Thomas Aquinas for the Round 4 semi final bash.

Led by veteran QB, Cord Sandberg who has accounted for 3,058 total offensive yards and 44 TDs. One of Sandberg’s favorite targets through the air is senior ATH Ju Juan Polluck.

Shifty and quick, Pollock could be the x factor in the monster semi-final game this Friday. Second on the team in receptions and receiving yards: 34 receptions, 569 receiving yards and 11 TDs.

SCOUT CARD
Polluck is a smooth runner who changes directions on a dime. His soft hands and elusiveness make him a hard match up for opposing defenders. He can run just about every route and can blow past defenders. Though he is not the biggest receiver, he makes the most of each reception. Ju Juan will play a key role in battle between Manatee and Aquinas.

Does STA have a chance vs. powerhouse Manatee? If thee lights are on and the field is still 120 yards, yes they have a chance. Not an easy task by far, but a task that can be achieved.

QB John O’Korn is the senior leader who depends on the perimeter playmakers to create separation and gain big yards after catch. Mark Barr is one of those big time playmakers on the outside who can “go get it and take it out the air”.

SCOUT CARD
Barr is a strong route runner with strong hands. Plays with an attitude and with a passion. He has great body control and hand/eye coordination. The 6-1/170LBS senior prospect is a athletic talent that will BE counted on to expose the Manatee secondary which may be the weakest part of a super strong Manatee defense.
