Love and Mann, Players to Watch For 2018

BCP, July 19, 2018 – Previously, we talked about five other electrifying athletes that stirred up all types of HSFB chatter and put their names under the spotlight. Here are two more players that have been excellent in grinding at their craft, having unconditional love for the game and are notable mentions to look out for in this upcoming 2018 season as they build on their field reputations.

Norman Love, 2020 Lake Wales WR- 6’ 185-pound junior Norman Love aided the Highlanders this past season in their positive 8-3 overall record and is making his name known among class 6A rivals. In 6 games in 2017, he amassed 431 receiving yards on 16 catches, 71.8 RYPG, and put up 4 scores. His greatest game surfaced in a 20-32 loss to Lake Gibson in which he still posted 105 yards on just 3 catches, averaging 35 YPC, a long-catch of 83 and 1 TD. His play defines what it means to capitalize on his opportunities, and will definitely be a more utilized offensive weapon as he continues to produce as a valuable piece for Lake Whales.

D.J. Mann, 2019 River Ridge DB/WR- This dynamic upcoming senior listed at 5’10” 175 pounds spreads his talent on both sides of the ball- a utility player that has contributed to the Knight’s 9-3 and 7-0 league successes over the past couple years in any assignment he takes on. Offensively, D.J. played QB in the 4th game of the 2017 season and threw for 117 yards, going 10 for 17, had a passing touchdown and a total QBR of 74.9. With his hands he collected 166 yards on 12 receptions with 1 score and running the pigskin, he tallied 271 yards on 59 touches with a pair of TD’s to show for. Last but NOT least on the defensive end of things, Mann racked up 42 solo and 20 assisted, with 7.5 TFL, 8 passes deflected and a fumble recovery!  His workload is due to increase undoubtedly as he accepts his senior role in his final year in the purple and silver.
