On a night where the Mother Nature got the last laugh, Lennard and Blake managed to finish a sloppy game of mishandled snaps, heavy footballs, poor footing, dropped passes and more. No such thing as an ugly win, but Lennard hit the buses soaked, slightly upset, but victorious.

Not much to this game. All the action happened in the first quarter. After trading possessions, Blake found themselves pinned tight to their own end zone. A wet, heavy football and bad QB/center exchanged equals tragedy for an offense. Lennard would get on the scoreboard first tackling the Blake ball carrier in the end zone after the ball bounced around a few times and players scrapping to recover it. Lennard took and early 2-0 lead.

Blake’s defense was tough and forced Lennard to punt giving their offense a chance to progress the ball and answer back. The Longhorn defense would hold their ground and make the Yellow Jackets kick it away on fourth down. That would prove costly as Diontae Johnson took the punt nearly 70 yards for the second score of the game. Lennard increased their lead 8-0 after an unsuccessful extra point attempt.

The rest of the game, both offenses struggled to move the ball consistently and the defenses had plenty of opportunities to get their Tackles For Loss stats up. The score would remain the same and Lennard left the stadium 4-0 headed into a tough district stretch versus Hillsborough, Robinson, Jefferson and Armwood.

Two players that stood out, DT Rowdy Driggers and DL Shavar Manuel. Both players were extremely tough to block all night. Driggers did an excellent job of defeating double teams and disrupting timing between the Blake QB and running backs. Manuel moved around at defensive end and defensive tackle. Was very effective at each position and owned the line of scrimmage.
