Largo Dominates East Lake

At the beginning of the season this game looked like it could be a game between two undefeated teams vying for county dominance. However, early breaks gave us a game between two teams trying to avoid a losing record. Even still Largo and East Lake came into this game having some big name stars which started the debate; which star would shine and which team would win? At the end of this game the answer was obvious and unquestionable JARVIS STEWART and THE LARGO PACKERS.
East Lake was once considered the best team in this county but that perception has long been proven to be an assumption and tonight was no different. Largo started out slow, trading possessions with East Lake in the 1st quarter leading to a 0-0 tie at the end of the 1st.
The 2nd quarter started the dominance for Largo and Jarvis Stewart as he burst on the scene early in the 2nd with an 80-yard touchdown run to open up the scoring. It appeared the play would be called back for holding but that turned out to be an unsportsmanlike penalty on East Lake and the score stood 7-0 Largo. Largo got another field goal before East Lake would get anything going on offense. In East Lake’s last drive of the half they were able to get in scoring range but a string of dropped passes lead them to turn the ball over to Largo with only 56 seconds remaining. Largo had no plans on going into the half with a 10-0 lead as QB Juwan Brown and Stewart combined for a 6 play 64 yard drive capped off by a 2 yard TD run for Stewart. Largo ended the half leading 17-0.
The 3rd quarter was much of the same; more Stewart and more defense for Largo. Stewart added another 24 yard touchdown run. East Lake finally came out of its conservative offense once star Sophomore WR Artavis Scott got back on the field (he missed the 1st half due to a suspension). Pete Dinovo connected with Scott late in the 3rd for a 35 yard TD pass but that would be all East Lake could muster as they would go on to lose 23-7.
Largo only completed 4 passes but passing was not needed in this game. Jarvis Stewart finished with 240 yards on 24 carries and 3 touchdowns. MORE PLUS VIDEO
