“The guys were upset about not being able to play Miramar and were worried about not having a fall classic. A great opportunity fell in our lap.” Lakewood head coach, Cory Moore said about not being able to play Miramar late August for the fall classic. But as he stated, a great opportunity was presented.

Lakewood will travel to Ponte Vedra High School on 8/23 to play their fall classic. “We are excited and want to play a very good program so we can set the bar for the season as well as get prepared for the regular season,” says coach Moore.

According to Maxpreps, Ponte Vedra was 9-2 overall last season. Perfect in their district, earning district champion honors. Lost to Bishop Kenny 16-13 in round 1 of the playoffs. Class 5A team this season.

Lakewood was 10-2 last season under Cory Moore and District Runner-Up. Only losses coming to Robinson in the regular season and the round 2 of the playoffs.
