FOOTBALL PINELLAS COUNTY RECRUITING

Lakewood is Lakewood. Talent Rich!

Lakewood is used to winning. The Spartans haven’t lost a regular-season game since 2018. Over the past two seasons, they have gone 20-2 with a couple of single-digit playoff losses. They are continuing to live up to that reputation this season. Cory Moore’s 2021 team is 5-0 at the mid-point of the season. The athlete-rich program continues to shine in all facets of the game. In their five wins, they have outscored opponents 162-72. Averaging over 32 points per game is certainly a recipe for success. CCC transfer Anthony Colandrea is thriving in the Lakewood offense and doing an excellent job of distributing the ball to a group of gifted playmakers. Here is a look at Lakewood’s offensive statistical leaders after five games. Defensive statistics are not available.

2023 QB Anthony Colandrea – 6’1” 177 lbs

Colandrea flashed his special talent while splitting time behind center at CCC last season. He immediately put the area on notice once he put on a Lakewood uniform. He had an excellent spring and a huge pre-season game. After five regular-season games, he has completed 74 out of 110 passing attempts (67%) for 1,140 yards and 10 touchdowns. He has also rushed for 91 yards and 3 touchdowns. He is a very well-rounded quarterback that manages the game with poise. He has a strong arm and is an accurate thrower. He is mobile and can hurt teams with his legs when the opportunity arises. He has an early offer from Kentucky.

2022 WR/CB Terrell Crosby – 6’ 178 lbs

Crosby is Lakewood’s leading receiver after five games. The Toledo commit has caught 30 passes for 420 yards and 3 touchdowns. His mid-season film is excellent. He is a pure playmaker with elite speed and athleticism. He is super shifty with great hands and vision. His defensive statistics aren’t available, but his film does a good job showing off his ability as a defensive back also.

2023 RB/OLB Montravius Lloyd – 6’1” 200 lbs

Lakewood’s leading rusher after five games is Montravius Lloyd. The junior has 56 carries for 339 yards (6.1 ypc) and 5 touchdowns. He also has 3 receptions for 75 yards and 1 touchdown. The touchdown reception comes on a screen pass again Palmetto where Lloyd shows off a mean quick cut and then his acceleration and break-a-way speed. He is a very physical runner with great vision and elite athleticism. His hurdle against Boca Ciega turned some heads early in the season. Lloyd also starts on defense and as you can guess, that film is super impressive as well. You have to admire how the Lakewood coaching staff lets these kids unleash their talent. He closes in on ball-carriers in an instant and tackles with authority. He is a disruptive force coming off of the edge.
