POLK COUNTY RECRUITING

Lakeland vs Kathleen Impact Players

LAKELAND —
Polk County’s biggest rivalry decided a district champion tonight at Bryant Stadium, one of many storylines in the annual showdown between Kathleen and Lakeland
.

AJ Davis, Lakeland RB – Anthony Davis pounded his way to 108 yards on 23 carries, including a 1-yd TD run in the fourth quarter. Never exploded for that big run. Instead was forced to slowly wear down the Kathleen defense on his way to a solid performance. Lakeland offensive staff fed him the ball early and kept him involved in the game even though early success came through the air.

Holden Hotchkiss, Lakeland QB – Hotchkiss finished with 251 passing yards and 3 TDs. Found an early rhythm throwing the deep balls to his main targets Robinson and young. Hit receivers in stride. Showed really good anticipation at the same time.

Torrian Hampton, Lakeland S – Made a huge play on special teams. Blocked a Kathleen punt and recovered it in the end zone for a Lakeland TD. Was solid defensively in man to man coverage and assisting in run support.

Xzavier Allen, Lakeland FB – His production made Lakeland’s offense more dynamic. Ended the game with 70+ yards and pushed around tacklers.

James Robinson, Lakeland WR – Robinson earned Player of the Game honors with 133 receiving yards, 2 TDs and a fumble recovery. Also played defense (CB) some in key situations.

Marquis Zimmerman, Kathleen WR – Marquis Zimmerman was the top target with 7 receptions, 173 receiving yards and a TD. Kathleen’s only offensive threat.

Jules St. Ge, Kathleen QB – finishing with 254 passing yards. When Zimmerman exited the game with a injury, St. Ge made the most of late opportunities.
