Since legendary football coach Mike Depue retired and rode off into the sunset after an incredible 12-2 season winning the district and the region, the Knights have been trying to find their way.

Shawn Taylor followed Depue as the next head coach and could not get the Knights over the hump. In his five seasons as the head man in charge, Robinson won 19 games and lost 28 games. In 2018 Craig Everhart took over and went .500 in his first season but took a hit going 3-7 in 2019. However, this season feels different.

The first order of business when Everhart was hired was to flip the culture and build a foundation. Get the kids to believe in the program and hold each other accountable. That’s happening and Everhart knows this is the key to a successful season.

7 Bullet Points About the 2020 Robinson Knights

Newcomers who will be a big part of the team’s success:

• Tydarius Cochran – brings a solid work ethic and will fit into an already talented receiver group.
• Arkese Parks – Incoming freshman joining his brother Rickeem who has a legit shot to help. The first freshman at Robinson on varsity since Robert Priester in 2012.
• Tyremii Williams – Coming back to Robinson and will be invaluable as he will make the defensive calls. A solid FCS talent who is showing the leadership qualities of a captain.

Returners who will be a big part of the team’s success:

• Leviticus McAffee – Lockdown division 1 corner and receiver, that will have the ball in his hands as much as possible. He will also be a second-year captain.
• Humberto Garzaro – Second-year captain “We lost him last year in the spring game when he blew his knee out,” said Everhart. He is coming back with a very large chip on his shoulder and will be the anchor on the offensive line.
• Rickeem Parks – Coming back at quarterback and will also return kicks and play some corner. An all-around Division 1 athlete going into his junior year.
• Carson Bay, Gunnar Gibson, and Gavin Logan – An impressive crop of kickers. Possibly the best collection in The Bay. Carson Bay is a 2021 Air Force commit, Gunnar Gibson is a 2022 4.5 star prospect and Everhart believes Gavin Logan will be D1 prospect.
