This Wesley Chapel Wildcat may be just entering his junior season of ball, but he’s already battle-tested and is finally starting to grow; literally and figuratively. Sessums has been grinding during the off seasons, constantly searching for ways to improve and now that he’s reaching the same size as some of the other “better-known” peers at the position at 5-foot-11, 168-pounds (which is up over 13-pounds since Ignite in January) it looks like win-loss record be damned, this young man’s here to compete. Sessums’ Wesley Chapel squad has gone just 2-18 since he’s arrived on campus, but last season he was at the helm for both those victories as a sophomore. Austin completed 59-of-128 of his passes for 933 yards, with 11 touchdowns and 5 interceptions on a team that has already been dealt a tough hand by the departures of several key players from the school to Zephyrhills Christian Academy and most notably the loss of Tre McKitty to Tampa Catholic during this offseason.

On top of all that, Sessums could get pushed by another 2017 teammate and BCP camper Jacob Thomas, but for reasons we feel would be completely out of his control since it’s not his fault that Thomas stands at 6-foot-3, 172-pounds and possesses all the skills to be a fine QB as well. The separation at this point is that Sessums’ arm is way beyond the strength you’d perceive it to be, his accuracy is sharp and he will straight-up run past your secondary if you let him get around the edge. Throw in the fact he’s got that year of experience already mentioned under his belt and we feel this young man, despite the situation, will be just fine.
