JESUIT VS TC: PROSPECTS, SPEED AND FILM STARS

JESUIT LOOKING FOR WIN #18

Jesuit versus Tampa Catholic tonight. You know the history, 17 straight wins for Jesuit. Tampa Catholic wanting to stop the bleeding this year. No matter the winner, both teams always have some pretty athletes on display. We took two handfuls and want to highlight the skills of these athletes.

TOP THREE COLLEGE PROSPECTS
Kendrick Torain, Jesuit (Tampa), 2018, CB; Dane Belton, Jesuit (Tampa), 2019, SAF and Larry Hodges, Jesuit (Tampa), 2019, TE (PRJ WR) are the three highest BCP evaluated college prospects on the field tonight. Both Torain and Belton are highly skilled 6 foot defensive backs. Kendrick is a UCLA verbal commit and is great in press coverage. Bolton can run like a full grown Bambi and hit like a truck. College interest will boom. Larry Hodges has the best hands in The Bay. Deceptive speed and projects as a slot receiver at the next level. Outstanding jump ball ability and crisp route running.

SUPER INTERESTING
Dorien Gooch, Tampa Catholic, 2018, LB is 6 foot 1 inch line backer with lots of range. Finds his way through all the box traffic. Leads the team with 74 total tackles and 16.5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage. Caleb Tate, Tampa Catholic, 2019, UTL – RB/LB does a little bit of everything. “Jack of all trades. Master of nothing” you know the saying. The young man has 245 rushing yards, 15 tackles, 1 interception and a sack. Will be a college prospect. We project him as a box safety or line backer. Will be a big kid.

SPEED KILLS
You may be able to name a few teams with a single faster receiver. Would be tough to name a team with a faster duo. Ahmarean Brown, Tampa Catholic, 2019, SLOT and Joe Hodge, Tampa Catholic, 2020, SLOT together are “stupid fast.” Enough speed to let a few other players borrow some. Both combine for 1300 all-purpose yards and 12 touchdowns. If either is able to get the sideline, say “Bye Bye!”

FILM STARS
Football coaches want football players. Kids who are reliable, show mental toughness and take care of their on field responsibilities. In addition, some what of a “prick” on the field. Impose their will on the opponents. When coaches turn on the film the day after the game, they say to each other “That kid is a freaking player (Could be a few additional explicits).” Pointing at Braden Gilby, Jesuit (Tampa), 2018, ILB and Nick Terrana, Jesuit (Tampa), 2018, OLB. These two just have something to them which make football fans pay attention. More athletic than they look and extremely physical.

THE BABIES
Then there is the future of each program. Jonathan Odom, Jesuit (Tampa), 2020, TE is going to be a good one. Will be super sexy to college recruiters standing 6 foot 4 inches and running as well as he does. DJ Taylor, Tampa Catholic, 2020, CB received his recently first college offer from Bowling Green. Outstanding ball skills and lateral mobility.
