Jesuit beats Palm Harbor, both look in preseason form

Palm Harbor QB, Tyler Kaminski

At a half filled Jesuit Stadium, Palm Harbor took the field looking to measure themselves against a Hillsborough County traditional power. Jesuit looking for redemption from a sub par 2012 season. Neither team look particularly stunning last night, but both have good aspect of their game to build on.

Jesuit won the preseason contest 19-14. At the end of the third quarter, Palm Harbor led 14-10 prior to the Hurricanes sending in the junior varsity squad to finish the game. Jesuit 2017 ATH Malik Davis would return a punt for 49 yards to give the Tigers a 17-14 led. Jesuit would also force a safety making the final score 19-14.

Palm Harbor played extremely well on defense. Jesuit struggled to sustain drives and move the ball at will. The Palm Harbor defense harassed the Tiger QBs and flew to Tiger ball carriers all night. On offense, QB Tyler Kaminski was more productive as a runner than a passers. Was very effective in the read option and gaining positive yards. Dominic Bonelli returned a huge Kick off, which you will see in the video below, showing speed, agility and even hurdled one ensuing tackler.

Jesuit played pretty well on defense. Bent a little, but did not break. The Tigers did not give up the big play and forced Palm Harbor into several three and out situations. Offensively, Jesuit would move the ball, then stall out. They would put together a nice drive and then costly penalties or turnovers would kill the drive.

Overall, both teams will have plenty to improve on if they would like to make a playoff run.
