WR Rodney Adams, Lakewood, 2013 had 25 catches, 819 yards, 10 TDs last season which was capped by a University of Florida verbal offer and a University of Florida verbal commit. As talented as Adams is, the debate lives, “Is Rodney Adams even the best receiver on his team”? If you don’t know, Lakewood High is stacked and should be back with a vengeance in 2012. The combo of QB Tracy Johnson, WR Rodney Adams and his competition, Marquez Valdes is a big reason why. Valdes is a 6-3 possession receiver that has become a popular name in the Bay Area. He has great speed, runs clean routes and is very dynamic. Though Adams is a UF commit, Valdes is creeping up slowly grabbing a offer of his own, waiting on the big one to come. Valdes currently holds a verbal offer from Toledo, but is receiving plenty of BCS attention from USF and Georgia Tech. in addition to FIU and Temple. There are some differences in the playing style of both receivers, but Valdes and Adams compliment each other very well.
