IMG traveled to Clearwater Central Catholic for a non-district contest and initially looked like it would be a Shootout. IMG opened the game with a lengthy drive that finished with a Jack Wegher TD run making the early score IMG 7 CCC 0. After a less than productive opening drive for CCC, John Davis approved a fake punt. Demetri Royer rumbled for a first down to set up the Marauders first score, a CJ Cotman 45 yard TD run. Extra point good and CCC ties the game with just over 7 mins to play in the first period.

IMG would answer right back. This time with a Tony Jones 12 yard TD run for IMG. And before you could blink your eyes, CJ took an 80 screen to the house. CCC failed on the extra point and IMG hung on to a 1 point lead. (IMG 14 CCC 13 – 1Q 4:45).

The two teams would turn the ball over on downs and CCC could not change the field position because of a series of bad punts which put IMG on the CCC side of mid field. Tony Jones and Jack Weghner worked the rush attack and the Ascenders got into the end zone with a Francios 5 yard TD run (IMG 21 CCC 13 – 2Q 6:17). IMG would score again before the half. After a Time out, Francios threw a 46 yard pass to the KJ Osborn and Francios QB sneak for TD. 2pt conversation good. At the half IMG 29 CCC 13

Out the gate in quarter 3, Jeff Smith threw a 75 yard pass to John Brunner placing the ball at the 5 yard line. Smith ended the drive with a TD run. Cotman 2pt conversion (IMG 29 CCC 21 – 3Q 9:10). CCC would get the ball back for their offense but it would not end well. IMG CB Saivion Smith blocked a punt and scooped it up for a score. (IMG 36 CCC 21 – 3q 5:25)

IMG added a few more scores making the Final IMG 50 CCC 21. IMG will host Champagnat on Friday while CCC will travel to Anclote.
